I grew up in a small town in northeastern Indiana. After graduating from East Noble High School, I decided to attend Franklin College to earn my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Middle School Language Arts. I started teaching in Fall 2002 in a 4th grade classroom at Break-O-Day Elementary. My second year of teaching, I moved into a 5th grade class at the same school. In Fall 2004, I joined Clark-Pleasant Intermediate School for its first year. After teaching 5th grade for two years at CPI, I then moved to 6th grade to teach. In 2007, I completed my Master's degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. I joined the middle school staff in 2016, and we all do our best to make every year memorable for our students.
When I'm not in the classroom, I am enjoying time with my family. I married my husband, Greg, in July 2003. We welcomed our daughter, Grace, to the world in 2005 and our son, Evan, in 2008. Britches, our beagle, and Percy, our basset hound, are also beloved members of our family. We all stay very busy throughout the year. My husband coaches football at Greensburg High School, so we often support him on Friday nights in the fall when we're not supporting our own Whiteland Warriors. My daughter plays soccer and throws shot put and discus for track while my son plays football and throws shot put and discus for track. As a family, we love to camp, canoe, kayak, visit the zoo, and travel to see family. My favorite hobby is cooking or baking, and I love to make special birthday cakes for my children.
I look forward to sharing more about myself with my students as well as getting to know all the interesting information about each of them! Teaching is a passion, and I continue to love what I do year after year.
